Welcome to Thyboron Port
The versatile commercial port at the Danish North Sea Coast
Four business areas
The Port of Thyboron is a dynamic commercial port going back over 100 years, with a strategic location on the Danish North Sea coast and safe navigation in any weather conditions. 5.8 km of quays and 900,000 square metres of adjoining land service four business areas with differing needs.
Highlights
The Port of Thyboron is bustling with activity and innovative entrepreneurs, and is strategically located for operations in the North Sea. The port continues to develop and grow. A few highlights are presented below:
10 m water depth in entrance
It is a great pleasure to offer 10 m water depth in the entrance to the Port of Thyboron and to the Limfjord quays. The large cargo and offshore vessels benefit from the increased water depth and also the largest industrial fishing vessels can enter safely for discharging at the fishmeal factory TripleNine A/S.

The project quay facilities provide ample space for handling a wide variety of very large and very heavy components. Operations can be flexibly tailored to suit the given project goods.

With growing interest in the cargo segment, we are taking the step to expand the port to the south. The port expansion utilises the material dredged from the entrance and will ensure enough capacity to allow cargo activities at the port to continue to grow in the years ahead. A new 220-metre-long quay for cargo and 150,000 square metres of quayside land are expected to be ready in 2022.

The Port of Thyboron has a unique, well-protected location inside the Liim Fiord on the Danish North Sea coast. The harbour entrance faces east, which means it can be entered in any weather conditions. Even in harsh weather, the ships ‘land’ softly in the wide opening to the Liim Fiord. These unique sailing conditions on the Danish North Sea coast ensure safe and stable operation for vessels and port activities and a smooth workflow.

Over 100 years of history
The Port of Thyboron has its origins in fishing. It was built as one of the first ports on the Danish North Sea coast in 1914, after many years of persistent efforts by the locals, and thus celebrated its centenary several years ago.
