Quays from north to south

There are 5.8 km of quays, from the oldest quay in the north, to the newer section in the south at the Port of Thyboron. There is thus plenty of quay space for any purpose within each of the four sectors – cargo, offshore, fishing and maritime services.

Quay facilities for fishing

A quick return to sea while fishing quotas are open is vitally important to fishing vessels. As a port, we therefore make every effort to provide quay facilities with safe navigation, good working conditions during unloading and easy access to supplies and maritime service companies.

Quay facilities for cargo handling

The Port of Thyboron has dedicated quays for bulk and project cargo and storage in quayside warehouses. In close cooperation with our customers, we create the framework for efficient logistics that ensure optimal handling of goods.

The Port of Thyboron offers unique facilities for offshore installation and a dedicated harbour basin for O&M, designed in close cooperation with the offshore wind sector – to the benefit of your offshore wind projects.

When we build new quays, we take maritime services into account as far as possible. Easy access to vessels for maritime services makes a difference every day at the Port of Thyboron.

This page has an overview of the many quays available at the Port of Thyboron on the Danish North Sea coast.

Beddingskaj

Numerous new fishing for human consumption vessels are built at Beddingkaj, adjacent to the Thyborøn Skibs & Motor A/S shipyard. The quay is also suitable for ship repair and conversion.

Gåseholmkaj

Gåseholmkaj is ideal for man overboard exercises with the fishing school, and maritime service on smaller vessels. There are also good working conditions for CTVs, with quayside land for equipment storage and good parking facilities.

Isværkkaj

Isværkkaj is suitable for fishing for human consumption vessels, including transit fishing vessels. It is also ideal for ship repair and maintenance from the nearby Kynde & Toft A/S and Thyborøn Skibs & Motor A/S shipyards.

Kanal Mole

Kanal Mole is suitable for small commercial fishing vessels, CTVs, tugboats and guard ships with its 5 metres of water depth. There is easy access to electricity and options for waste disposal at the quayside.

Konsumkaj

At Konsumkaj, fishermen land their catch directly into the fish auction, which distributes the fresh North Sea fish throughout the EU. There is also easy access at the quay to clean fish boxes for the next voyage, direct from the quayside box washing facility.

Langholmkaj

Langholmkaj is an ideal cargo terminal for storing goods outdoors and in quayside warehouses, for both indoor and refrigerated storage.

Limfjordskaj l

Bulk cargo terminal with a 180-metre quay, designed specifically for the customer for handling sand and gravel, with 100,000 m2 of adjacent land.

Limfjordskaj ll

Project quay facilities with ample adjacent land for offshore wind projects. The heavy-lift facilities are suitable for project cargo, with a load capacity of 23 tonnes per square metre.

Midterpier

Historic wooden pier in the innermost part of the port. Quay position 100 is used by yachtsmen.

Nordre Mole

Nordre Mole is ideal as a layover quay for offshore supply vessels. The pier has been renovated and expanded to a width of 10.5 metres, ensuring easy access for maritime services.

Nordsøkaj

Nordsøkaj has been built for maritime services for fishing vessels. The quay can handle heavy lifting, and offers excellent access for maritime services. Numerous maritime service companies are located right beside Nordsøkaj.

Oliekaj

130 metres of new quay designed for oil tankers, offshore supply vessels and industrial fishing vessels, which can also be used to handle bulk cargo. The quay has facilities for ex-pipe bunkering of large vessels, with a capacity to refuel at 1,500 l/min until the vessel is filled.

Sperlingkaj

The discharging system for the fishmeal factory, with a capacity of 400 tonnes per hour, is located on Sperlingkaj. These first-class quay facilities for industrial fishing vessels began operation in 2020, and have been created through unique collaboration to meet all operational needs.
