A dynamic commercial port
The Port of Thyboron is a busy commercial port. The port was originally established as a fishing harbour in 1914 with the diligence and grit which is so typical of West Jutlanders. Given its strategic location close to fishing grounds, neighbouring countries around the North Sea, gravel pits and the future wind farms in the North Sea, the port has been steadily evolving over the years, and now has four equally significant business areas – fishing, goods handling, maritime services and offshore.
We listen to and work with our customers to create the right infrastructure for the widely varying needs and the best possible working conditions at the port. Good service is fundamental to our culture. Providing the best and most flexible service imaginable is part and parcel of our DNA.
The Port of Thyboron is your east-facing gateway to the North Sea
With its unique location at the centre of the west coast of Jutland, where the Liim Fiord flows into the North Sea, the Port of Thyboron offers excellent navigation conditions with a unique eastward approach on the Danish North Sea coast. Even in harsh weather, the ships ‘land’ softly in the wide opening to the Liim Fiord, and find calmer water through the harbour heads. Navigation is independent of weather conditions, ensuring stable operations.

5.8 kilometres of quays and 900,000 square metres of adjacent land serve four business areas, each with their own needs for efficient infrastructure and service. Over 3,500 vessels call at the Port of Thyboron each year.
There is a water depth of up to 9.5 metres in the harbour. The water depth at the entrance to the port in Thyboron Canal has been deepened to 10 metres.
The Port of Thyboron offers ISPS level I security and is ISO-certified in relation to quality, the environment and health and safety.
