At the Port of Thyboron, we strive to always meet the highest environmental requirements.

Energy consumption

As part of our environment strategy, we converted all the port lighting to LEDs in 2018. The port office was replaced with a new energy-efficient building in 2019, and the refrigeration system at the fish auction was replaced with a new environmentally optimised system in 2021. We monitor our energy and heat consumption, which is reported in our key environment figures.

Recycling waste

We have specific procedures for handling ship waste and slop oil. We have an extra large stockpile of flotation barriers in our equipment yard, in case of a spill.

We sort our waste for recycling and keep environment accounts, which we report on in our environment figures and ratios.

As part of our environment strategy, we are committed to increasing the recycling of marine waste.
